Snow Fails to Stop Play at ARK Kings Academy Enrichment Day 3

Students and staff from ARK Kings Academy today enjoyed an action-packed day of enrichment activities yesterday, despite the best efforts of the occasionally unkind winter weather.

Students from all years of the school took part in a range of designed to give them an opportunity to try new activities and develop their practical, team-working skills beyond the traditional classroom setting. Activities included:

  • Popcorn Challenge. Year 7 and 8 students were tasked with designing and marketing their own brand of popcorn. In the afternoon they turned their ideas into reality by producing fresh popcorn with a variety of seasonings.
  • Adventure Ropes Course. Year 9 students braved the snow and cold to take part in outdoor activities, enhancing their practical coordination and team working skills.
  • Diamond Maze Challenge. Year 10 students competed in teams in a number of practical challenges before trying to win as much money for their team as possible in the Vortex grand finale
  • Discover Your Passion. Year 11s had the chance to try bite-sized samples of different activities, including baking, dancing, martial arts and music. These sessions were designed to spark students' interest in a new hobby or sport they may not have considered trying before.

The enrichment day formed part of ARK Kings Academy's ongoing commitment to providing our students with a first class education. We believe by introducing students to new experiences and opportunities to learn beyond the classroom we can help students develop the outlook and skills they need for later life.
