Cityserve believe that eating in school should be a pleasurable experience; time spent sharing good food with friends and teachers. At CityKitchen, we understand the importance of eating healthily from a young age. The whole Cityserve team is passionate about providing every school student with healthy and nutritious meals, all of which will be freshly prepared using the finest locally sourced ingredients.
Ark Kings Academy have recently been announced 3rd in the top ten for outstanding catering by Education Business and our Catering Supervisor Chrissie Jackson was awarded Employee of the Month for November 2017.
Your child can benefit from choosing a school meal each day. Whether you’re new to school meals or starting a new school year – don’t hesitate to ask for more information by contacting the Admissions Team on 0121 459 4451 or email email@example.com.
Each day we provide two choices of homemade traditional meals – one protein and one vegetarian, served with a carbohydrate and vegetables. Alongside this we offer the following options
- Homemade sandwiches, baguettes, rolls, wraps and bloomers
- Freshly made healthy options – salad pots, fruit pots and yoghurt pots
- Homemade desserts
- Homemade tray bakes, biscuits and cakes
All our menus meet the Government’s food and nutritional standards. We use a specialist software package called ‘Nutmeg’ to measure the nutritional value of all of our recipes and make adjustments where required.
Ark Kings Academy work closely with Cityserve’s Development Kitchen – CityKitchen Live! Students create new food concepts, recipes and the menus that they want and CityKitchen make them School Food Plan compliant.
City Serve operates a cashless payment system. Each student has their own account, which they top up with cash which can be used in the canteen. This means students can be served more quickly and do not have to carry cash on a daily basis.
