Loudmouth anti-bullying programme

Wednesday 26 June 2019

On the 4th June 2019, our Year 7 and 8 enjoyed a drama performance and interactive workshop run by Loudmouth to raise awareness about the different forms of bullying and how to protect against them. Our students showed outstanding engagement and empathy in their discussions about an important topic.

Research by National Centre for Social Research found that 47% of 14 year olds and 41% of 15 year olds reported being bullied. Cyberbullying and online safety are also major concerns among children and teenagers with an increase in bullying via mobiles, email, consoles and websites. Bullying within relationships, homophobia and sexual and sexist bullying as well as the impacts of sexting are also major issues for many schools.

"It was really interesting! I found the discussions really helpful, I really enjoyed talking about how to make Kings an anti-bullying school"  -Katie O, Yr7

"They showed different ways bullying can happen and how it can be stopped"  -Gemma K, Yr8
