At Ark Kings our vision for pupils is that:

"Every pupil will make excellent progress, develop outstanding character and be successful in life, education and employment."

We know that for pupils to be successful in life, education and employment, the work they do outside of school is crucial, so their ambitions and dreams can become a reality. It is for this reason that we are launching these expectations for study for our pupils. Given the current climate and the effects of the pandemic, we know that studying outside of school is even more important.

We expect the following from pupils:

  1. Pupils should read for 20 minutes every night.
  2. Pupils should follow the below study timetable, completing their study as directed by their class teachers.
  3. Pupils will complete their work online, using Hegarty Maths, Seneca or Microsoft Assignments in Microsoft Teams.

The above timetable is very much recommended, but we recognise that pupils may be busy some evening or they may prefer to work at the weekend. This gives pupils the flexibility to complete their study at a time that is convenient to them and your family.

    Laptops, Wi-fi and Study Club

We have distributed over 500 laptops to pupils in the Secondary Phase of Ark Kings. These laptops are loans to help pupils have reliable access to a study resource. If your child has not collected a device, they are still available, so please email j.brocklebank@arkkingsacademy.org or the relevant Student Support Manager to arrange collection. If you are having issues accessing the internet we are offering a Study Club night every week where pupils can complete work.
This will run between 15:30 and 16:00 on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

How can I support at home?
