At Ark Kings Academy, we are passionate about offering children a range of activities and experiences to enrich their learning. These range from educational visits, visitors in school, workshops, opportunities to learn a musical instrument, being a member of a sports team and after-school clubs.
Recently, we were proud winners at the Ark Teacher Summit 2019 of the Most Creative School of the Year award! We were recognised for the creative and enriching experiences we offer our children!
This page provides further information on the enrichment opportunities we offer our pupils. Please contact your child’s class teacher or Mr. Taylor for further information.
We are proud to offer our pupils opportunities to engage in the Arts.
Recently, we hosted BAFTA Kids in our school where Blue Peter’s Lindsey Russell and Children’s Match of the Day’s Ben Shires delivered a day of TV presenting masterclasses and careers Q&A sessions for our pupils.
In October 2019, we hosted an all-through family theatre trip to see Oliver! at the Stourbridge Town Hall Theatre.
Our next theatre visit is on Thursday 23rd January 2020, where Key Stage 2 pupils will be going to the Beauty and the Beast Pantomime!
Each term in school, pupils watch productions from pop up theatre companies. On Tuesday 17th December, pupils watched Snow White!
On Thursday 2nd April 2020, pupils will be watching Jack and the Beanstalk!
We are also proud that all of our pupils in Key Stage 2 learn to play a musical instrument. In Year 3, pupils learn the recorder. In Year 4, they learn to play the djembe drums and in Years 5 and 6, they learn the ukulele through tuition from Services for Education.
To further immerse our pupils into their curriculum studies, we host workshops where pupils have the opportunity to spend a day engaging in creative activities, applying their knowledge and skills from lessons.

Over the course of the year, we take our pupils on off-site educational visits. These range from visits to the farm to local museums. Our 2019-2020 visits offer will be sent out to parents in the Autumn term.
We encourage all pupils to attend these visits, as not only are they highly engaging learning experiences for our pupils, but they also provide our children with vital cultural capital they need as they grow up.
