I am delighted to be Primary Headteacher at Ark Kings Academy. I was previously the Headteacher at Ark Victoria in Small Heath and prior to this taught across schools in the West Midlands for 26 years.
Our goal at Primary is to ensure that every child is well prepared academically and socially for the next phase in their education journey, ultimately giving them the skills and qualifications needed to go to university or on to the career of their choice.
Our school values are: 'Aspire. Expect. Achieve. Together’. These values permeate all we do in school with pupils, parents, staff and the wider community. Our school is a place of purposeful learning. We aspire first and foremost to be excellent readers so that every child can access every part of our curriculum.
We are proud to offer an exciting and aspirational curriculum with plenty of enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities. These include theatre and museum trips, sporting events, local services vistors to school, pupil leadership, performing arts, Year 6 residential and Bikeability. We welcome our parents into school to engage with their child's learning through weekly reading mornings and a variety of curriculum workshops and curriculum showcase assemblies.
As an all-through family, staff and pupils embrace every opportunity to work alongside and learn together with our secondary pupils and staff.
As part of the Ark network, our school benefits from strong links with the wider network – particularly with the other Ark schools in Birmingham. Staff are able to receive high quality training and support which is recognised as being among the best in the country- and our pupils will have opportunities to be able to take part in additional network-wide activities.
I am excited for the future for Ark Kings Primary and look forward to working with families and the children. If you would like to tour the primary phase, then please phone the Primary school office on 0121 458 5380.
