Within our Primary Phase, we are proud to provide the foundations for a lifelong love of learning and to help children develop the knowledge, character and confidence they need to flourish as they progress through our school.

As an all-through academy, we are able to build deep relationships with our pupils and families from the very beginning of their educational journey. During the primary years, we focus on developing secure foundations in learning, strong habits for success and a genuine curiosity about the world around us. We know every child exceptionally well and strive to ensure that every pupil feels valued, supported and challenged to achieve their very best.

The primary years are a crucial stage in a child's education. It is during these years that we establish the foundations upon which future success is built. We place a strong emphasis on the development of reading, writing and mathematics, ensuring that every child secures the essential knowledge and skills they need to thrive. We are particularly passionate about developing a love of reading, opening doors to imagination, knowledge and opportunity through a rich and carefully planned reading curriculum.

We believe that children learn best when they are excited by what they are studying. Our broad and ambitious curriculum is designed to spark curiosity, deepen understanding and help pupils make sense of the world around them. From science and the humanities to the arts, sport and technology, we want every child to experience the joy of discovery and develop interests that will stay with them for life.

Learning extends far beyond the classroom. Throughout their time in the Primary Phase, pupils benefit from a wide range of enriching experiences that broaden their horizons and create lasting memories. Educational visits, performances, sporting opportunities, leadership roles and community projects all play an important part in helping children develop confidence, character and a sense of belonging.

As an all-through school, we have a unique opportunity to prepare pupils exceptionally well for the next stage of their education. Our primary curriculum lays the academic and personal foundations for success in secondary school, while our close collaboration across phases ensures that pupils move into Year 7 with confidence, strong learning habits and a secure sense of who they are as learners.
