School meals

Through regular meetings with the pupils at Ark Kings, we will endeavor to provide a fresh food offer which is Fresh, healthy and affordable as well as exciting for the pupils and staff. Modern, high street concepts will feature alongside familiar classics, giving pupils the opportunity to develop their tastes and learn about different cultures and food styles. Kings Kitchen believes that eating in school should be a pleasurable experience; time spent sharing good food with friends and teachers.

We are passionate about the importance of eating healthily from a young age providing a different seasonal menu for both Primary and Secondary pupils means every child will be served a healthy and nutritious meal, all freshly prepared using the finest locally sourced ingredients.

We know that if our pupils eat well they are better able to learn. Our pupils enjoy a healthy, freshly-cooked lunch each day. Sweets, crisps and fizzy drinks are not permitted in the academy. Your child can benefit from choosing a school meal each day. Lunches are provided free of charge for children in Reception to Year Two as well as those families eligible for Free School Meals.

A vegetarian option is always available and the kitchen is usually able to cater for special dietary/medical needs if given advance notice – please contact the school office so we can help you organise this if necessary.

Our canteen operates a cashless system called iPayimpact. This system has improved our ability to serve food quickly and efficiently, reduced the amount of cash circulating within the academy and made the process of getting a school lunch easier for all students, especially those on Free School Meals.

Ark Kings Academy is proud to be in partnership with Magic Breakfast, providing healthy breakfasts to our pupils so that they are settled and ready to learn. Magic Breakfast provides our school with nutritious breakfast food to ensure children start their school day in the best possible way. Breakfast gives children the energy needed for the busy school morning, enabling them to focus on their lessons.

Here at Ark Kings Academy we want to ensure no child is too hungry to learn. Research has shown a direct link between the breakfast habits of children and their educational attainment.

We are proud to be supported by Magic Breakfast to provide all our pupils breakfast before registration each morning.
