Overview
At Kings, we value the whole child, and we know how important it is to develop pupils’ experiences of the world, cultural capital, character and sense of adventure. For this reason, pupils at Ark Kings follow an Enrichment programme that supports and develops their character in line with the academy's vision, values and virtues that will empower them to thrive in life, education and employment.
As part of this Enrichment offer, pupils will participate in 3 Enrichment Days across the academic year, providing them with a range of opportunities to explore society and personal development such as raising money for charity, visiting the elderly in the local community, experiencing Birmingham’s museums and art galleries and exploring the local countryside on orienteering adventures.
Pupils can participate in extra-curricular activities after school every evening from 15:15 – 16:15 (from 14:20 – 15:20 on Fridays). There are a range of activities on offer including seasonal sports (football, basketball, hockey), general fitness activities and creative activities (Choir, Art Club, Rock Orchestra, Drama). Pupils are encouraged to attend at least one evening a week and the range of options are displayed on screens around the school and will be published in our school newsletters.
